Newham Sports Futsal Club was founded in 2015, and are based at Rokeby School, Canning Town, in East London. Since the 2015/16 season Newham have competed in the NFL Division 2 South, finishing second to Sussex in 2016, seventh in 2017, second once again in 2018 this time to London International, and in fourth in 2019. It has also competed regularly in the London Futsal League, winning once in 2017. The club, previously known as London Zappsport Futsal Club was originally formed in 2013 by Chairman Antony Collier through the social network MeetUp. Zappsort’s head coach Alex Freitas led the club into the National Futsal League Division 2 South in 2014/15, finishing fourth after a strong second half to the season. This form continued into that seasons FA Cup, where the club defeated numerous Division 1 opponents to reach the final 12 of that year’s competition.

The club has grown over the past three years, under the guidance of Head Coach and President Naser Mohamed, increasing both the membership of players and the amount of sessions it runs for adults and youth. The club is proud that our membership includes players from all over the world including the UK, Spain, Italy, France, Lithuania, Poland, The Netherlands, Croatia, Romania, Russia, Turkey, and the USA. Newham are committed to providing opportunities for open aged recreational futsal, hosting several weekly adult open futsal sessions in East London for players of all abilities.

Newham also run several youth teams as a part of its academy, and this year hosted its first youth futsal league, with teams entering from East London and Essex. Working with young people and spreading futsal in East London was how it all started with the club, and hopefully the first academy graduates are not far around the corner from making 1st team debuts.
